It is important to use a good skincare program in the everyday routine, it is especially important to have a quality post-workout skincare program.

Many skincare problems begin with excess oil. Acne is one of the most popular skincare problems that every one faces (literally) at some point in life. The major cause of acne is oil clogging the pores.

A strenuous workout can cause a buildup of excess oil all over the body do to sweat. This excess oil can cause body acne. For this reason it is essential to cleanse the entire body after a good, heart-raising workout.

It is easy to build a post workout skincare kit that has all the essentials to prevent skincare problems. So hit the showers with these great items and protect the skin!

  • Face Cleanser: Use a gentle cleanser that will remove dirt, oil, and makeup. A foaming cleanser seems to always leave the skin light feeling and refreshed. Try Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple High Foaming Daily Cleanser. This cleanser is filled with botanical extracts to soothe the skin plus soften as well.
  • Light-weight Moisturizer: After a great workout, the last thing the skin wants is to be weighed down with a thick moisturizer. Pick one that is for oily skin (unless prone to severe dryness) to combat any additional sweating that might be caused post workout. Find a yellow based tinted moisturizer if the workout caused a blushed face.
  • Dry Shampoo: A dry shampoo is a fairly new product available and perfect for after a workout. This avoids going through the routine of shampoo, conditioner, blow drying, style, and everything else we do to our hair. Dry shampoo is light weight and helps add volume while cleansing and absorbing oil. Try Refresh Volumizing Dry Shampoo by T3. Color match with either the light or dark formula for assurance of no visibility and clumps!
  • Sore Muscle Rub: A great workout will help anyone feel great, but sometimes it can also lead to soreness. Unfortunately most muscle rub products leave to a medicine cabinet smell, avoid that by using Ole Henriksen Muscle Comfort Lotion. This product will not only relieve aching muscle, but will also smooth skin.
  • Towel: Of course a towel is needed at the gym. But get the best results with a Nano Cyclic Towel. This amazing little towel will not only absorb excess sweat, it is also odor-free!
  • Baby Powder: Baby powder is essential step to absorb oil. Even though a shower will definitely remove the perspiration caused by the workout; baby powder will help combat any post workout sweat that usually happens right after a great workout. Dust the body all over with a light layer of baby powder. Baby powder will also do wonders if there is no time for a shower. Towel dry, and then apply baby powder.

Remember to pack a makeup kit with some essential glamour items if heading to work or out with friends!
