Acne skin care can help ease most acne problems, a common skin care problem most people have.
These days there are many solutions to acne problems. Although many of the acne products available today do wonders, most people will benefit from a simple acne skin care program, whiuch can fit anyone’s budget. Although we most often think of acne sufferers as teenagers, anyone can suffer from acne. Acne is the most common skin problem people have, no matter the age, race or ethnicity. It was once thought that acne can be caused by lifestyle choices. Acne is often associated with dirt or with a poor diet. However, neither diet nor dirt is really the problem. Acne problems come from oil and oil clogging the pores. Many years ago people claimed that chocolate caused acne. Other foods, such as greasy fast food products have also been given the blame for acne. Research now shows that foods seem to have no effect on acne. To keep the skin acne free, this basic skin care program will help clear up current acne as well as keep pores clean. Four oil-free products are used in this acne skin care program. Do not try to skip a step, skipping a step will not produce the same results. 1. First cleanse the skin. Wash the face two to three times a day and no more than that! Repeatedly washing the face will just cause the skin to overreact and product more oil. More is not better in this case; just stick to washing the face in the morning and before bed and after a strenuous workout. Do not use a bar soap to cleanse the face. Stick with a oil-reducing cleanser; one that foams feels extra nice. 2. Next, exfoliate the skin. A gentle home microdermabrasion kit will work wonders. Exfoliating once or twice a week will not only help fight acne but will also help remove previous scarring. Plus, exfoliating will help skin have a natural healthy glow. 3. Before applying moisturizer, use a topical lotion that has benzoyl peroxide and salicyclic acid. These two products will help fight current acne and will penetrate the pores and prevent oil buildup. It only takes a small amount; remember the less-is-more advice from step 1. 4. The last step is moisturizer. Many people will want to skip this step because they think that moisturizer will just add to the oil. Not true: Moisturizer will actually prevent the skin from over-producing oil. Plus this is a great way to make sure the skin is covered with sunscreen so get a two for one, get moisturizer with sunscreen (at least SPF 15). There are many products available that claim to give clear skin, such as Proactiv or Neutrogena. Many of these programs work, but unfortunately do not work on everyone’s skin. Just because Proactiv worked on the neighbor does not mean it will work for someone else. Be willing to try many products; ask for samples, and talk with other people who have a similar problem. If you do not see improvement, contact a dermatologist.
